On June 24, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee) said that Ho Chi Minh City Technical Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, the investor of the Hanoi Highway project, had sent a document to the People’s Committee. proposed to reduce 10% of fares, increase the time of using monthly and quarterly tickets at Hanoi Highway BOT stations to support businesses in the face of COVID-19 impacts.
According to the proposal of the Investor of Hanoi Highway project, the time to apply the fare reduction starts from July 1, 2021 and lasts until the end of September 30, 2021. After the expiration of the discount period, fares through Hanoi Highway BOT stations will return to the current level.
Thus, if the ticket price is reduced by 10%, from July 1, the new fare will be applied to cars under 12 seats, trucks under 2 tons and buses are 22,000 VND and car tickets from 12 to 30 seats. , trucks from 2-4 tons are 35,000 VND. The ticket price for cars with 31 seats or more, trucks from 4 to 10 tons is 45,000 VND; Tickets for trucks from 10 to 18 tons and container trucks of 20 feet are VND 90,000; Tickets for trucks over 18 tons and 40 feet container trucks are VND 125,000.
Particularly, cars with monthly and quarterly tickets will not be discounted, but in return, the investor proposes to increase the usage time by 10% during the discount period.
It is known that the Hanoi Highway BOT has a whole project length of 15.7km, operating from April 1 to payback for the project of expanding this route and the National Highway 1 section from the old Station 2 junction to the intersection. Tan Van (Binh Duong), with a total investment capital of more than 4,900 billion VND.
In April 2021 alone, this toll station has achieved nearly 80% of the revenue expected in the project. However, due to the number of vehicles transferring traffic and the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the revenue in May and 15 days of June 2021 tended to decrease significantly compared to April.
Currently, the toll revenue of the Hanoi Highway BOT station in June 2021 is about VND 4,270 billion, expected to be negative VND 2.1 billion/month and completely unable to repay the principal.
